Rock Bridge girls soccer suffered a 3-1 loss to Timberland in the COMO Shootout on Saturday at Rock Bridge High School, ending the Bruins’ four-game winning streak.
Sophomore Olivia Bannister scored to cut the Bruins’ deficit to 2-1, but the hosts couldn’t complete the comeback.
Rock Bridge will next host Jefferson City (6-3) at 7 p.m. Monday.
Rock bridge boys track and field wins Bill Summa Invitational
Rock Bridge boys track and field won the Bill Summa Invitational with 87 points at Truman High School in Independence.
The Bruins picked up first-place finishes from senior Drevyn Seamon in the 200-meter dash (21.91 seconds) and junior Brennan Scott in the 400 (49.14).
Rock Bridge also won the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:02.13 and placed second in the 4x200 relay (1:28.12).
Senior Donivan Taylor won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet and a quarter of an inch, and classmate Joshua Amoah-Owusu took the triple jump crown with a mark of 47-3¾.
Rock Bridge placed second in multiple events, including Seamon in the 100 dash (11.04) and junior Luke Sievers in the 1,600 (4:20.17).
The Rock Bridge girls team finished 14th with 16 points. Senior Ella Schwandt placed fourth in the 300 hurdles (51.06). The 4x400 relay team also placed fourth with a time of 4:26.79.
Rock Bridge will next compete in the Eastern Relays on Friday and Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tolton girls track and field takes second at All Catholic Invitational
Tolton girls track and field scored 124 points to take second in the All Catholic Invitational at Chaminade High School in Frontenac, just six points behind Cor Jesu.
The Tolton boys placed sixth with 72 points.
Tolton put many athletes on the podium, led by a first- and second-place finish in the girls discus courtesy of senior Isabella Tillman (94-7.8) and sophomore Isabelle Ortis (90-7).
The Trailblazers had plenty other first-place finishers as well, including sophomore Cameron Shouman in the pole vault (8-5).
Sophomore Savannah Schieber won the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.98, and senior Elyse Wilmes won the 1,600 in 4:53.53.
The Tolton girls placed second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:10.84.
The Trailblazers’ boys team was led by first-place finishes from senior John Glaude in the mile (4:30.74) and the 4x400 relay team, which blazed to a podium-topping time of 4:11.76.
Runner-up finishes came from senior Carson Jacaway in the 200 (23.10), junior Benjamin Schroeder in the 800 (2:03.60) and senior Mac Thornburg in the javelin (128-3).
Tolton next competes in the Centralia Invitational at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Centralia.

Rock Bridge baseball defeated Willard 8-3 in Willard.
The Bruins (11-3) next play Helias at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Jefferson City.
Battle baseball beats Harrisonville in West Central Classic
Battle baseball picked up a 6-2 win over Harrisonville in the fifth-place game of the West Central Classic at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia.
Six of the first seven hitters in the Spartans’ lineup reached base, culminating in a two-run single by Jack Putnam single that capped a four-run first inning.
Senior Brayden Groseclose did not make an out at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Junior Brady Crites pitched 5⅔ innings of one-hit, one-run ball to grab the win.
Battle (7-6) next hits the road to play Jefferson City at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Battle boys tennis suffered a 5-1 to Timberland in the Show-Me-Tennis Tournament at Holt High School in Wentzville.
